Below are just some of the activities we can do together and even some examples of Itineraries clients have loved when they have explored Uvita with me. We can mix and match activities based on your needs and fitness level. We have served clients from 8 to 80 and every level of fitness from athlete to coach potato'
Most Uvita Day Adventures require planning around low tide because that is the best time for accessing some of the popular attractions we may visit.

The above order is dependent on the low tide timing. Playa Ventanas and Walking out on the Whale Tail require a low tide . The day is flexible.
Coffee and Waterfalls
We head up early to Cafe Don Emilio for a 10 am coffee tour, but first we will go take a look at the beautiful San Luis Morete Waterfall. The more daring and athletic. may hike up to the base, or you can simply view the majesty of the falls from the road. It takes about 35 minutes to get up there.
After visiting the falls we head to the coffee plantation for our coffee tour (extra $45 per person) for coffee tour and a delicious lunch. The coffee tour is 2 to 3 hours then we head back down to Uvita and explore 1 or 2 more waterfalls (depending on time). We finish with coffee or a snack at Que Taunis cafe in Bahia. As noted, all meals and/or snacks are not included in the initial Uvita Day Adventure price. There is also a 2am tour if that fits your schedule better.
The Coffee tour must be booked in advance and is not available Wednesday or SaturdayI will help you book the tour.
Waterfalls & Swimming holes
This Day as the name implies is all about waterfalls and exploring the rivers here. Here in the Uvita area we have many waterfalls to choose from and beautiful spots on the rivers to swim or just explore . Some waterfalls are just a short easy walk, while others require a hike and/or river crossing. We will put together the right falls Day for your wishes and fitness level.
We can take a break at mid day for lunch with a view, or you can bring a basket to picnic. If you decide to spend more time at any given falls we can do that, this will be a flexible schedule
Some waterfalls charge an entrance fee, other are free. We can discuss your selection in our pre adventure call.
Whales & Waterfalls
This Day starts off with a whale tour (Extra fee applies). We travel down to the Whale Tour Company at 8am and go on a 3 hour Tour looking for Whales and Dolphins. There is the option to take a dip in the ocean and the tour guides usually give us some delicious fruit to snack on.
Next we head off to the waterfalls of your choice and a stop at a local Souvenir shop.
Lunch with an ocean view followed by another waterfall or two.
This day is only available during Uvita's two separate whale seasons Mid July through October and Late December through February
ATV Tour and afternoon at the beach
A morning ATV Ride with a short visit to a coffee plantation and waterfalls. We travel the windy mountain road with breath taking views in your choice of ATV or side by side. Some vehicles can carry up to 4 people or you could choose a single, a double or my choice, the larger side by side for a smoother ride. ($150-$500 per vehicle) The ride ends with a delicious fruit platter at a beautiful waterfall. You may swim if you would like.
When we return from the ATV Tour we can have lunch at an ocean view restaurant, traditional Costa Rica soda or pizza place of your choice. We spend the afternoon at one of the local beaches where I will keep your valuables safe while you enjoy the beach.
Monkey Boat and Ancient Spheres
We travel down to Sierpe (1 hour drive) to go on a 3 hours riverboat Tour ($60 per person) with Linn and Abby. This father daughter team know the mangrove like the back of their hands and love to help visitors discover the wonders of the Sierpe River Mangrove. I call this the Monkey Boat because I have always seen many monkeys on this tour. This is a great chance to see a wide variety of animals including monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, birds and more.
After we get off the boat we can grab lunch in Sierpe and then head off to nearby Finca 6 historical site/ museum to meet with a guide who will join us to explore the mysterious Stone Spheres of Costa Rica. (extra fee)
Uvita Orientation
We will explore Uvita to get to know the town better. We can drive through neighborhoods of Uvita and Bahia to give you a feel for the area. We can stop in at a bank if you would like to open a bank account or go to the Kolbi store to get you set up with a Costa Rica Phone number. We will visit several local businesses and talk with some of the owners.
Next we will go on the Uvita Walking tour (Extra fee applies) and learn about the fascinating history of Uvita. We can explore a local swimming hole on the rio Uvita and visit some local fruit stands.
San Isidro/ Pérez Zeledón
A full day visiting Perez and San Isidro. We drive the famous Route 243 to Pérez Zeledón where we can visit the attraction from the Farmers Market to the Famous Church, Walmart or Pequeño Mundo for shopping.
Birds & Beaches
We will meet with a guide and spend the morning birding. Duration about 3 hours. Lunch at a local restaurant and then off to the beach where I will watch over your valuable while you have fun in the surf and on the beach. Shop for souvenirs at Artifice.
